Supplies
- bowls
- wooden stir sticks/spoons
- PVA glue (Used: Elmer's white glue.)
- measuring tools: 1 cup, 1 teaspoon,½ cup, ¼ teaspoon
- acrylic paint (Used: Sargent Art Liquid Metals acrylics.)
- baking soda
- shaving cream (Used: Barbasol, but any brand should be fine. Highly recommend using unscented or lightly scented--like aloe.)
- star confetti
- contact lens solution (Used: Walmart generic brand, Equate. You can try other brands, but it must contain sodium borate, or another boric acid derivative)
- optional: baby oil (To eliminate residual stickiness.)
📋 Step One
Grab a bowl and stir stick/spoon. Pour into your bowl: ● 1 cup glue
📋 Step Two
Add paint and stir into the glue.
● 1 spoonful paint
Note: not a heaping spoonful! Squeeze just enough paint to fill the spoon.
📋 Step Three
Add baking soda and stir into the glue.
● 1 teaspoon baking soda
📋 Step Four
Add shaving cream and mix well. The consistency will be loose.
● 1 ½ cups shaving cream
📋 Step Five
Add a couple spoonfuls of star confetti.
📋 Step Six
Add contact lens solution and mix well.
● 1 tablespoon contact lens solution
Note: If your slime is still sticky, add another tablespoon of contact lens solution and mix well.
📋 Step Seven (Optional)
Add a tiny amount of baby oil if there’s any residual stickiness.
● ¼ teaspoon (or less) baby oil
⭐ Keep your slime in an airtight container to keep it fluffy and flexible. It may eventually deflate--if your slime is still elastic, you can try working more shaving cream back into it.
