Unmask! YA Summer Reading Program 2015: The Winners!

Congratulations to our 2015 YA Summer Reading Program prize package winners--and all our participants for an event-tastic, virtual read-a-thon of a summer! There were 231 of you, reading 4,905 hours over almost an 8-week period--that means 327 logs, 327 Mystery Bags of Awesomeness (one goody bag per log completion), and 981 prizes slips earned through reading alone!

Participants could also earn prize entry slips by volunteering and attending special SRP events. I'm proud to say that between May 27th and July 17th, our Bellya Volunteers and summer intern, Madison, put in an astounding 288.77 hours of dedicated attention and labor. Thank you: the SRP ran smoothly due in part to your efforts.

A grand thank you as well to this summer's sponsors, who donated to our prize packages and events:

Please check back for posts on the SRP events (many photographs to come!)--as well as a surprise opportunity. ヾ(o✪‿✪o)シ

* Nothing Can Possibly Go Wrong graphic novel by Prudence Shen and Faith Erin Hicks
Charlie is the laid-back captain of the basketball team. Nate is the neurotic, scheming president of the robotics club. Their unlikely friendship nearly bites the dust when Nate declares war on the cheerleaders and the cheerleaders retaliate by making Charlie their figurehead in the ugliest class election campaign the school has ever seen. At stake? Student group funding that will either cover a robotics competition or new cheerleading uniforms--but not both.

* Battling Boy: The Rise of Aurora West graphic novel by Paul Pope, JT Petty, and David Rubin
Aurora West, daughter of Arcopolis's last great hero, Haggard West. A prequel to Battling Boy, The Rise of Aurora West follows the young hero as she seeks to uncover the mystery of her mother's death, and to find her place in a world overrun with supernatural monsters and all-too-human corruption.
* The Graveyard Book, Volume 1 graphic novel by Neil Gaiman, P. Craig Russell, Kevin Nowlan, Tony Harris, Scott Hampton, Galen Showman, Jill Thompson, & Stephen B. Scott
After the grisly murder of his entire family, a toddler wanders into a graveyard where the ghosts and other supernatural residents agree to raise him as one of their own. Nobody Owens, known to his friends as Bod, is a normal boy. He would be completely normal if he didn't live in a sprawling graveyard, being raised and educated by ghosts, with a solitary guardian who belongs to neither the world of the living nor the dead. There are dangers and adventures in the graveyard for a boy. But if Bod leaves the graveyard, the he will come under the attack from the man Jack--who has already killed Bod's family...
