I ♥ My Library Fundraiser & New Stuff!

Thank you again to everyone who participated in or donated to our all-day IMy Library fundraiser on May 20th!

In effort to supplement funding for our Children's and Young Adult departments, the Bellevue Public Library held a day of fun and fundraising, with special events from 9:00 to 7:00, 12 themed raffle baskets, library heart buttons for $1, and free face painting, popcorn, and ice cream!

Our fundraiser was part of the third annual Omaha Gives! nonprofit fundraiser challenge, organized by the Omaha Community Foundation. From midnight to midnight, any donations made to the Bellevue Public Library were recognized as a part of this event and were eligible for a percentage match from Omaha Gives! (for more information, please go here).

Thanks to your generosity, the library was able to raise approximately $4500!

Please watch a short video made to express our sincere thanks for all the business and community support:

And here are some more photos of you guys making the official I ♥ My Library teen mural (fueled by the popcorn and ice cream)! Also follow the jump to see some new arrivals to the YA area!

The mural is now on display in YA cafe area, over the white board. Teens are still free to add to it--a bin of markers are on standby!

New Stuff!

Many, many beautiful and new books are now out in the Young Adult area! To see a complete listing, go to our catalog, click New Titles in the right capsule, and select Teen. Please remember that with your library card number and PIN, you can place holds on items you are desperately longing to read, but that are currently checked out.

Can't remember your PIN? You'll have to come in to reset it, but you can always call (402-293-3157) and place holds over the phone with one of our helpful library staff members.

Also out now is the June 2015 Teen Ink, a magazine for teens by teens! These are free, courtesy of the Bellevue Public Library, and can be found at the Front Desk and in the YA area (under the bulletin board and in the YA cafe). Back issues are also available for the taking!
