DIY: Make at home!

Gordon Wyant

Pinterest is full of amazingly fun and simple crafts, but one that I have been dying to do for a while is temporary tattoos with gel pens.  After seeing gel pens on sale, I decided it was time to try it; which is why we are doing it today during Wednesday Recess!

It just looks like so much fun and so easy.  As always, the reality is a little more complicated than the fantasy of the craft (Craftasy?) . . . but it is still crazy fun!  Here's the instructions:

Temporarytattoos

Pretty simple, right?  It really is!  With a few caveats, of course.  For one, getting just the right amount of ink takes a bit of trial and error.  Also, the time you keep the damp cloth on the paper will depend on the type of paper you've used and the how much ink you've used and how long it sat before starting the transfer.  You will have a couple muckups.  In fact, you will see that the Hanklerfish I made in the first pictures do not match the final product.  I had to try a couple times before I made one I was happy with.  Don't be afraid to touch up your tattoo after the fact, either.

Anyway, give it a try and post your results in comments!

DFTBA!
