Update 3/30/2020: our closure to the public has been extended through April 15, at which time the City of Bellevue will reassess the situation.

 ----

Effective March 17 by 6 PM, we will be closed to the public as a precautionary measure out of concern for public health safety. The Library will remain closed for two weeks, until April 1, at which time Bellevue City officials will evaluate the situation and determine whether or not the library will continue to be closed for a longer period.

In relation to the closing the following steps will be taken by the library:
• No items will be due while the building is closed to the public.
• All due dates will be extended to April 17, 2020.
• No fines will accrue while the library is closed.
• Holds will be extended for those persons unable to pick up their items.
• No cards will expire during the time the building is closed to the public.
• Patron Interlibrary Loan requests will be suspended until April 1.
• Patrons may still return items to the outside bookdrop.
• Wi-Fi internet service is available on the outside borders of the library (Mon.-Thur., 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Fri, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sat. & Sun., 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
• The fine threshold will be temporarily raised to allow patrons with fines of less than $50 access to digital content.
• Staff will be available to answer phone calls and emails, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Digital resources are accessible from the library’s website 24/7. These include ebooks and e-audiobooks, digital magazines, research databases, language lessons and more.
