Gotta catch'em all at your Bellevue Public Library! This all-ages event was from 12:00-4:00 PM on Saturday, September 24th, 2016. All three departments (children's, young adult, and adult) worked together to bring you Pokemon-themed awesomeness.
People came in to:
◕ play Pokemon Go!
◕ make Pokeball cupcakes!
◕ enjoy face painting!
◕ write/draw on the Library Pokedex!
◕ play around on the library green screen--featuring a Pokemon background app!
◕ enter the Pikachu candy jar contest!
◕ do Pokemon crafting!
◕ attempt the Snorlax ball toss!
And, most thrillingly, ◕ hunt for Pokeball cubes, hidden throughout the library! Some contained little surprises and others were specially marked. Participants brought these to the Front Desk to claim a Pokeball plushie. And one lucky hunter found a cube for a Master Ball plushie!
Lures were dropped all afternoon and no one ran out of Pokeballs--because we're a PokeStop! A profound thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this event possible.
Thank you to Betty Breier and Kathy's Crochet Club, who created 42 Pokeball plushies for the hunt!
We hope everyone enjoyed our Pokemon Party!
And we are pleased to announce our Pikachu candy jar winner: Ted A.! The jar contains 460 lemon candies and he made the very close guess of 455. He also wins a special Master Ball plushie. Congratulations!
